Terms of Service

By downloading, installing, or using the KOVA app on iPhone or Apple Watch, or by visiting the kova-run.app website, you accept these Terms of Service. If you do not accept them, do not use the service. We may update these terms; material changes are notified by email and an in-app banner at least 30 days before they take effect. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.

KOVA is a running and walking activity-tracking app for iPhone and Apple Watch, with a complementary read-only web dashboard at kova-run.app. The service is provided by Appè Latte, an independent software studio in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

You may create one account per person. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity under your account. You must be at least 13 years old (16 in the European Economic Area). If you sign up on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you have authority to bind that organisation to these terms.

KOVA offers two paid tiers: $9.99 CAD per month, or $49.99 CAD per year. The same price applies on iPhone and (from Q4 2026) Android. Annual purchases include a 7-day free trial; monthly purchases bill from day one. Prices are subject to change with at least 30 days’ notice; you can decline a price change by cancelling before the new price takes effect.

Apple and Google map our Canadian-Dollar price to your local currency at checkout using their own regional pricing tiers, which are not a live FX conversion of the CAD figure and may vary by country. The exact price you will be charged is shown in the App Store / Google Play purchase sheet before you confirm.

Billing is handled by Apple via the App Store on iPhone, and (Q4 2026 onward) by Google via Google Play on Android, charged to the payment method on file with the respective platform account. We never see your payment method. Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. Cancel any time at iPhone Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions → KOVA, or (Android) Google Play → Profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → KOVA. You retain access to paid features until the end of the period you have already paid for.

Personal Bests are free forever, regardless of subscription status.

When using KOVA, you agree not to:

• reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app, except where law expressly permits it;
• scrape, harvest, or extract data from kova-run.app or our APIs by automated means;
• create multiple accounts to evade subscription limits or trial windows;
• use the service for illegal activity or to harass, defame, or harm any person;
• upload or transmit malicious code or interfere with the service’s operation.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these rules.

Your runs, walks, splits, Personal Bests, profile, and notes are yours. We do not claim ownership over them. By using the service, you grant us a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive licence to store, process, and display this content solely to operate the service for you and to sync between your devices. The licence ends when you delete the data or your account.

The KOVA name, the KOVA wordmark, the “run simple” tagline, and the visual design of the app and website are trademarks and copyrighted works of Appè Latte. App Store distribution is licensed, not sold; you receive a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to use the app on Apple-branded devices you own or control, subject to the App Store Terms of Service.

KOVA is fitness-tracking software. It is not medical advice. Heart rate, pace, training-load, and recovery metrics are estimates, computed from sensor data, and are not diagnoses. Consult a physician before starting a training programme, particularly if you have a medical condition or have been advised against strenuous activity. The service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranty of any kind, either express or implied, to the maximum extent permitted by law.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Appè Latte and its employees, contractors, and partners are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service. Our aggregate liability for any claim arising under these terms is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. Some jurisdictions do not permit limitation of certain damages; in those jurisdictions, this limitation applies only to the extent permitted.

You may stop using the service and delete your account at any time (iOS Settings → Account → Delete Account). We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms, with notice where practicable. On termination, the licence we grant you ends; the provisions of these terms that by their nature survive termination (intellectual property, disclaimer, limitation of liability, governing law) continue in effect.

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta, Canada, and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Alberta, except where local consumer-protection law grants you a non-waivable right to bring a claim in your jurisdiction of residence. The App Store Terms of Service apply alongside these terms for iOS-distributed builds.
